1. All surfaces to be painted will be thoroughly cleaned to remove any dirt, algae and mildew before painting.

2. All loose paint, caulking and glazing will be removed if necessary.

3. All gapped or failed caulking will be over coated with silicon acrylic latex caulk with a manufacturer's warranty of not less than 55 years (i.e. Sherwin William 1100A). Glazing on window grids will also be replaced if necessary.

4. All areas where preparation or painting is taking place will be covered with drop cloths or plastic. (Example: driveways, walkways, shrubbery, etc.)

5. All areas where loose paint has been removed to the point of exposing bare wood will be spot primed with proper primer-sealer before any finish coatings are applied, unless Sherwin Williams Duration, which is self-priming is specified.

6. All woodwork is sanded and checked for imperfections. Imperfections large enough to fill will be filled with appropriate wood filler or Bondo, then sanded and primed before any finish coating is applied.

7. Vertical drainpipes (downspouts) are also painted as well as horizontal gutter systems.

8. When work is completed all work areas will be cleaned to the client's satisfaction.

Exterior Site & Surface Preparation Includes:

We take site preparation very seriously. This is the first and most important step to ensure the professional results that will protect and beautify the exterior of your home or business for years to come.

All loose paint and defective caulking should then be removed. Any rotted boards should be replaced, and all new and bare wood primed. Gaps between adjoining wood, or wood and masonry, should be caulked with a powerful sealant. Hardware and light fixtures which are not to be painted should be removed or properly protected, and all plants should be moved or covered.

We will thoroughly scrape all loose, peeling paint. We then sand and prime those scraped areas. Primer is always applied to any bare wood or metal. If we see any old, dried up caulk, we will immediately replace it with new caulk. Areas around windows and doors are paid special attention in order to make sure any and all potentially damaging moisture is blocked from entering your home.
